I caught a glimpse at Glacier National Park on a friend's Instagram (shout out, Jenna!). In her photo, they were hiking along the Highline Trail. That was it, I had to go.
We camped on the edge of Lake McDonald at Sprague Creek Campground. And guys..it rained, it snowed, and it was freezing. This was my first adventure I planned all on my own, and I was not prepared for that. Luckily, I'm an over-packer, and had a ton of layers to wear.
The popular Highline Trail is 12 miles of winding around mountains, up and down, and silently praying to not cross paths with a bear since there is no other way to go but down. I was a little intimidated by the length of this hike, but at the end of it, I felt SO accomplished. It's addicting!
These guys were the best sports to follow me around on this trip. Hiking all day, camping in the rain/snow, and driving all day/night isn't everyone's idea of fun. But I was so happy they were up for the challenge. You da real MVP, boys! We're thinking Yosemite next...?
Not not afraid of heights...
Canoeing on Lake McDonald.
*Unfortunately, there were forest fires all over Glacier National Park when we arrived, and there was smoke everywhere. So happy it cleared up a bit from the rain on our second day!
If you have any questions about our trip, need recommendations of where to stay or what to do while you're in MT, or just need some convincing to GO here, head over to my contact page. I love hearing from you! Happy travels!
